Makeup Policy and Long Term Project Policy:

Absent work, Help, and Test Retakes:    (absent work can be daily

          assignments, quizzes, labs, or tests.)

  • I will be available in my room for homework assistance in the mornings around 7:10 and after school on a daily basis.  Please let me know if you plan to come in so I can make sure I will be there to help you.  You need to make an appointment.
  • If you are absent for any reason it is your responsibility to come to me and get the work that you missed.  You have 1 day to make up work for every day you are absent.  The rule does not change if you have missed a lab, quiz, or test.  You will need to make arrangements to make up work if you were gone for an extended period of time.  This must be done the first day back at school.  If you need to come in after or before school you must sign up in the calendar on the corner of the desk and check with me to make sure that I am available. Failure to report for a make up arrangement will result in a 0 for that assignment.
  • You must be present for the original exam.  Only one week is allowed for test retakes.  You can only retake a test once every semester.  You will receive the higher grade between the retake and the original up to a max of 80%.
  • Any long-term projects assigned in class will be given one date that the assignment is due.  All students must turn this project in on that date by 3:00, whether the student is at school or absent.  Get the assignment time stamped by the front desk if it is not given directly to the teacher.

Excused and Unexcused Absences: If your absence is unexcused you WILL NOT have the opportunity to make-up the assignment, quiz, lab, or test.  If your absence is excused, follow the policy stated above under "Makeup Policy and Long Term Project Policy."  School policy states a student will lose credit at 4 unexcused or 12 total absences.

Laboratory:

  • Correct lab procedure will be explained before each lab and students must follow the lab safety rules review at the start of the semester.
  • Horseplay will not be tolerated.  Students will leave the lab and will not receive credit.

Additional Rules:

  • No food, drinks, or water bottles are allowed in the classroom.
  • Cell phones and music devices are not allowed to be used in class.  Items will be confiscated if seen.
  • PARENTS ARE TO CALL THE SCHOOL DIRECTLY IF AN EMERGENY EXISTS, DO NOT USE A PAGER OR CELL PHONE.
  • ABSOLUTLY NO HATS IN THE CLASSROOM OR THE BUILDING.  Hats will be confiscated if students wear them in class.
